Since 2019, Joule has been building bicycle plans for businesses and public services. One of the most important sectors is the healthcare sector. Our very first client came from this sector and is still a valued partner. Over the past five years, we have welcomed many new clients. Here is an overview of one of the most functional products for one of the most beautiful sectors.
Bicycle leasing tailored to the customer's needs
No two organizations are the same, especially in the healthcare sector. Healthcare organizations often consist of multiple NPOs, have different bylaws or employee functions linked to other joint committees, and are sometimes characterized by scale pay. Therefore, it is a challenge to communicate a uniform bicycle plan, a challenge that Joule seizes with both hands.
Flexible bike leasing as a solution
Joule enjoys working with healthcare partners and offers:
- Bike leasing on different terms (12, 24, 36 and 48 months) for flexibility on short-term contracts.
- Promotional bikes: bike leasing with high discounts for about five standard bikes, interesting at baremaloon.
- Activation at various sites via test caravan and/or on-site info sessions.
- Activation budget to support incentives for bicycle fleets.
- Share bikes with bluetooth lock and bike fleet software.
- Other services: bike purchase, group purchase, maintenance contracts for existing fleets, used bike leasing.
Healthcare organizations with more energy
- I-man: Joule's very first client. A bicycle plan was rolled out in 2019 for all employees of the underlying NPOs. A number of promo bikes were also offered for the bike plan.
- What: i-man is an independent care organization. They are there for everyone, at every stage of life. From before birth to the last stage of life. They bring all care to your home so you can stay in control of your own life.
- Cyclists today: 135 bikes

- What: Ter Heide is a passionate and driven care specialist providing professional support to 430 children and adults with multiple disabilities
- Cyclists today: 47 cyclists
- Family Aid: public tender for bicycle leasing of one specific 'Family Aid bicycle'. Tender won in 2023 and started in 2024.
- What: Familiehulp offers a wide range of care, support and domestic help. Everyone in Flanders and Brussels can confidently entrust their questions to us.
- Cyclists today: 15 cyclists (plan is only just active).
- White-Yellow Cross West Flanders: pole bikes for home nurses who come to the home in West Flanders.
- What: The White-Yellow Cross is a home nursing organization organized provincially with an umbrella federation.
- Cyclists today: 34 cyclists.
- Helan: public tender for bicycle leasing for all employees of the underlying NPOs: Helan Independent Health Insurance Fund, Helan Household Assistance,...The tender was won in 2022. Read more of their customer story here.
- What: Helan is an independent health insurance company that also offers household assistance, child care, insurance child care and maternity care.
- Cyclists today: 118 cyclists.
- Flemish Neutral Health Insurance Fund: bicycle plan for employees of the VNZ and other linked entities such as Comfoplus. Read more of their customer story here.

- Partenamut: public tender for bicycle leasing for all Partenamut employees. The tender was won by Joule in 2021.
- What: Partenamut is the French-language counterpart of Helan.

- Mederi: a bicycle plan for all independently affiliated independents with an interesting discount on a bicycle lease. Bicycle plan started end of May 2024.
- What: Umbrella organization for and recognized service of independent home care nurses and is committed to innovation and ethical entrepreneurship in healthcare.

- VBZV: a bicycle plan for all independently affiliated independents with an interesting discount on a bicycle lease. Bicycle plan started in 2022.
- What: The Flemish Professional Association for Independent Nurses unites some 3,000 independent home nurses and represents their individual, collective and professional interests at all levels
- Cyclists today: 8 cyclists.
- Compass NPO: A bicycle lease for home care staff. Bicycle plan started in 2023
- What: Kompas supports people with disabilities in living, working, leisure and learning.
- Cyclists today: 18 cyclists.
- ZNA: pool bikes for the Hospital Network Antwerp and maintenance contract through Joule's mobile services on the entire bike fleet.
- What: Hospital Network Antwerp (ZNA) is the largest healthcare organization in Belgium. On ten sites, the group includes 3general hospitals, seven day centers, six specialized hospitals, a psychiatric care home and a residential care center. ZNA stands for quality and accessible care.
- Cyclists today: 37 cyclists.
- The Flemish Cross: Bicycle leasing for employees. Bicycle plan active since 2024.
- What: The Flemish Cross is an aid organization with branches and nuclei scattered throughout Flanders.
