2 people lease a bike through their employer

More and more employers are encouraging their employees to use bicycles. The bicycle saves time, has attractive tax advantages and is good for people and the environment. Companies are increasingly looking towards bicycle leasing. Joule helps them to roll out a customized leasing plan. "Bike leasing is more than just providing bicycles.

Bike leasing is clearly on the rise. Never before have so many Belgians leased a bicycle through work. As a result, the use of leased bicycles is breaking records year after year. Joule helps companies create an active cycling culture by offering a customized leasing plan. "We try to tailor our offer as much as possible to the customer's needs, including mobile maintenance, deliveries, repairs and servicing, at home or at the workplace," says co-founder Nicolas Coudeville.

For Joule, an active bicycle culture begins with awareness that bicycles can play a prominent role in commuting as an alternative mode of transportation. "The functional benefits in the urban context help raise awareness among employers and employees. Cycling is also good for the mental and physical well-being of employees. Furthermore, bicycle leasing is also a unique selling point in the war for talent. Once that awareness is there, we try to respond to the different needs as much as possible."

Start to lease

Bike leasing allows employees to pay off their bikes - often electric models - on an economical basis. "The more expensive the bicycle, the more interesting leasing is. Financing can be done through the end-of-year bonus, a cafeteria plan or the mobility budget. You can spread the payment over one to four years. Bike leasing is tax exempt and therefore interesting for employer and employee."

Joule is a partner of Pioneering Employer. An inspiring track where 70 pioneering employers are committed to a sustainable mobility policy and a people-oriented personnel policy.

The bicycle takes center stage

Pioneering employers encourage the use of environmentally friendly transportation such as the e(bike), scooter or public transportation:

"Where desirable and possible, the Pioneering Employer definitively gives cycling a central place in mobility policy. Bike leasing, share bikes or bike reimbursement can be part of a thorough bike policy, which includes bike parking and showers."
